Wet ‘n’ Wild comes to Ireland ft. my hits and misses so far!

Sorry guys, it’s not what you think lol! I am of course talking about the American makeup brand Wet ‘n’ Wild which hit Irish shores at the beginning of the year. By now it should be in most Dunnes Stores & some Pennys too across the country….I hope….so I thought I would show you what products of their I’ve liked and disliked so far. Also animal lovers their brand is a Peta-certified, cruelty-free brand 🙂

Coverall Foundation & Pressed Powder
wet n wild coverall cream foundation review So both these products contain VisiBright™ Technology which claim to reduces the appearance of wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin. I tried to find out more about the VisiBright™ Technology but couldn’t so I don’t know too much behind it.
I really like the two of these products. I wasn’t too sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The foundation I got is in shade Light/Medium E818 which I thought might be too pale for my skin but actually suits it very well, I might need a shade darker in the summer though. It gives a really nice matte coverage and I’d say medium coverage too. It doesn’t feel at all cakey or heavy on my skin either which is so hard to find with medium/full coverage foundations! You deffo need a good makeup brush to apply though as it’s too thick to get even coverage with your fingers. I recommend stippling then buffing it in like I do with my Blank Canvas Cosmetics F20 foundation brush.

The powder I got is in Light which honestly is way too pale for me but I’m going to pick up one that suits my skin better as I’ve found it a  lovely powder for giving a better finish to your make up, it really helps set it and I can see it being a must in the summer months. I wouldn’t recommend it for people with very dry skin though as it soaks up any excess moisture I feel. I use a powder puff that I have from inglot to apply this as I find it easier than the one that comes with it.

At €3.99 for the powder & €4.99 foundation I think they are a great bargain but high quality!

The Concealers
wet n wild concealers reviews
I tried three of these, the Coverall liquid concealer wand (€3.49) in light , the Coverall stick (€2.99) also light and the Coverall concealer palette (€4.49)
The liquid wand was my least fave, it was cakey and just kinda stuck to any dry areas of skin.
The stick is much better consistency wise for not creasing. Although it is quite a pink shade so it kind of makes my blueish under eye circles a bit of a lighter purple shade. So I think I’ll try a slightly darker shade. I think if you got the colour shade right this is a winner.

The concealer palette….well let me say it’s great it covers under eye circles, redness, spots and even has a highlighter for the inner corners of eyes, brow bone etc. But I have fairly sensitive skin and this contains menthol?! So needless to say when I use it under my eyes they water and on my cheeks it stings 🙁 Such a strange ingredient as I would love this apart from the stingy sensation. Maybe it wouldn’t bother someone with less sensitive skin?

wet n wild silk finish lipstick
The lipsticks are also fab ladies! The one above is called ‘Fuscia with Blue Pearl’ part of their Silk Finish lippies and are only €1.99!! I’m so in love with it! It glides on and is very moisturising thanks to the Vitamins A & E and Aloe Vera ingredients but it also lasts well on the lips too.

Next is the Mega Slicks Lipgloss (€2.99), these add some shine whilst being moisturising with vitamins A & E. Oh and they are not all gloopy and tacky, they are very silky! I got the colour Seedless Watermelon so it’s like a clear gloss on me. You can also get a clear one which I’m going to pick up to wear over lipsticks to give them shine and to keep my lips moisturised.

I also tried the Mega Last Liquid Lip Colour. It’s like a paint for the lips! The colour is really heavy and intense and claims to last 8 hours while conditioning lips with it’s vitiman E ingredient. I honestly found this very drying and almost cakey though. It went on creamy and then after 5 mins it was like dried on glue so that it showed every crack in my lips. Getting it off was a nightmare, I had to wash and use my Lush lip scrub twice to remove it all! So it definitely lasts lol, but I just don’t think it’s for me.

Coloir Icon Eyeshadow Trio

I had heard so much hype about the Wet ‘n’ Wild eye shadows I couldn’t wait to try them. I picked up the palette ‘Sweet as Candy’ as I liked the look of the brown and pink. I have to say they live up to the hype, the colour pay off is great, they blend easily and last well (pic of eyemake up further down) Amazing quality I have to say for just €4.49 and the trios come in a range of colours.

Wet n wild mascaras megaprotein megavolume review
Anyone who knows me knows I’m so fussy about my mascaras and out of the two I tried these just don’t do it for me 🙁 I find them quite a watery/light consistency so they don’t coat and lift my eyelashes to what I’m used to. Out of the two though the Mega Volume (€4.69) does a better job. They are just not what I’m used to though.

I tried the Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner (€2.99) which is a liquid in Black Sparkle, now it’s not very black, more a dark grey but its pretty. I like the brush on this too it’s not too thick or too thin and the consistency of the liquid it’s self is good and last well. I will definitely be picking up the black in this

Below is a picture of my eyes using the liquid liner, eyeshadow trio and Mega Volume Mascara
eye makeup using wet n wild makeupI also tried some of the Colour Icon Eyeliner Pencils (€1.99). These are great, they glide on and last ages too. I absolutely love the bronzed colour one I’ve never gone for an eyeliner in that colour before. The other two are dark brown and deep blue. Below are my favourite, the bronze and deep blue <3

Mega Glo Illuminating Powder & Colour Icon Blush
mega glo wet n wild colour icon blush mellow wine
I tried the Mega Glo Illuminating in Starlight Bronze and Colour Icon Blush in Mellow Wine. The Illuminating powder is in the darkest shade so it was like a shimmery bronzer. They also have peach and pink tones available too. It can be used as eyeshadow too and too dust along your collarbones for a night out. It goes on well and blends easy too. Same goes for the blush and a little goes a long way.

Phew….I think I’ve half the line covered there, there is still so many more products which I can’t wait to try. The quality for the price is so good with most of the products you cant really go wrong for that quick makeup fix 😉 Oh and I also tried their Mega Last polishes (sorry forgot a pic) they are brilliant too for only €2.99.

As I say you can pick them up in most Dunnes and a few Pennys stores too.
I’d love to know what any of you girls have tried and what where your hits and misses?
Yaz x
