Tea tree oil is a favorite spot fighter of mine, so I was very intrigued and excited to see this Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream by The Body Shop!
BB creams are more beneficial for your skin than foundations so I love them to give my skin a break from heavy foundations while still getting some coverage.
The new BB cream from The Body Shop is perfect for blemished spot prone skin and comes in 3 universal shades. As I’m olive/tanned skin I find shade no.2 works best for me. Maybe in the summer with some tan I might be a shade 3 but no.2 is a pretty good match. As you can see no.1 is a really light shade so I think will be a good match for most fair Irish skin tones
The first thing I really love about this is the beautiful tea tree oil smell, mmmm it’s so fresh and clean smelling if ya lvoe tea tree oil you’ll know what I mean! The purifying and antibacterial Community Fair trade tea tree oil comes all the way from Kenya and helps fight blemishes and reduce redness! Yay!
The consistency is creamy but not heavy like a foundation so a a teeny bit goes a l long way with this product. By the way, I find, like most BB/CC cremes this applies best using your fingers and you get more coverage with a primer underneath. My favourite one at the moment is Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer which has the added benefit of an SPF in it too. See my review on that here.
Finally I like to brush some translucent powder on top to give extra staying power.
Coverage wise it’s light and makes your skintone look even and fresh whilst being matte. I really love how my skin looks and feels with this on. While on it feels really cool and fresh, not stingy though just a nice cool feeling from the tea tree oil 🙂
Not sure if you can notice the difference in the pics above but I sure can. It evens discolouration and and blemishes and I think my skin looks pretty fresh in the last pic and certainly added some life so I didn’t look so pale 🙂
I’ve only used this BB cream a handful of times but absolutely love it. Believe it or not, I’ve had no major breakouts while using this daily….and I’m due my period so I think the tea tree oil is helping to fight them before they pop up!
I will definitely be using this on a more regular basis as tea tree oil is great for your skin and natural too. It’s available now from The Body Shop for just €13.50.
So what do you guys think? Is this a BB cream you think you’d try or have already tried? Yaz x
