Another months has passes already, wow! And what better way to come into May then with a beauty box. Again I was surprised when this littlbeaut arrived at my door!
I loved the pretty green paper that my goodies were wrapped in this month. This months box was focused on the start of summer and those mini weekend breaks away for those lucky enough 😉
Here’s the contents:
Blank Canvas Cosmetics Eye Brush E26
Bia Beauty Stop the Clock Eye Gel
La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+
Etre Belle Cosmetics Longlasting Eyeshadow Pen
Eva Professional Mystic Diamond Elixir
So as you can see there is some great brands there most notably La Roche Posay, one of my fave skin care brands and Blank Canvas Cosmetics, one of my fave makeup brush brands. I know I’ll love the LRP sample I’m just a bit disappointed with how small the tube is :/
I’m sure I already have this BCC brush (oh look I do, I have the double ended version) but I don’t mind coz you can never have to many to hand 😉 TheE26 is the perfect size and shape for blending and buffing eyeshadows.
I love argan oil for my hair so was delighted to see the little vile of this Mystic Diamond Elixir which contains diamond powder also to give great shine. It feels heavier/thicker than other argan oils I’ve used but it’s really nice stuff and claims to add volume too. No idea if the volume thing is true but it certainly makes hair shiny and smooth Also, don’t let the size of the little vile fool you fool you as a tiny bit goes a long way and so far I reckon I’ll get about 5-6 uses out of this!
Next is the eyeshadow pencil by, new to me, German brand Etre Belle. I got this in a pretty shimmery pink. It feels nice on, and wears great throughout the day as it becomes water & smudge proof shortly after application.
Last and my sadly to say my least favourite is the eye gel from Irish brand Bia Beauty. Now I do like some of the products by this brand like their Detox Body Scrub. I was so excited to try products but I just don’t like the feel of this on my skin at all. I noticed it felt quite sticky but presumed it would absorb into my skin and be left feeling smooth. Unfortunately after applying it in small circular motions under my eyes I was left feeling so sticky. I gave it 15 mins and had to wash it off as it was too annoying. I also tried it again today and it still feels tacky around my eyes after I apply it. I’m going to go read some more reviews to see what others though as I for one wouldn’t recommend this. Sorry.
All in all, I’m happy I got to try some new brands and add a new brush to my collection. As I always say beauty box companies are never going to please everyone. I love receiving makeup brushes in the boxes yet others might hate them so it’s all down to personal taste but the one thing I’ll say about PowderPocket box so far is they have good quality brands and support Irish ones too
Did you get your PowderPocket box this month? Thought? Yaz x
