June is looking to be a very very good month for Netflix viewers. There are lot’s of new releases to watch, that is if you’ve finished watching my recommendations from my last post here . I binged watched Grace & Frankie over 3 nights, it was so funny and easy to watch. Here’s to season 2! And another mention goes to Bloodline if you haven’t watched that yet I really enjoyed it!
Right, so anyway here is my top picks from the new releases in June.
Netflix For the adults
Orange is the New Black (Season 3) 12th June
You knew this wasn’t going to be first didn’t ye? 😀 We’re so close (tomorrow!!!) to getting back in Litchfield prison and seeing the antics of Piper, Red, Crazy Eyes, Vee and the rest of the inmates with some newcomers thrown into season 3 too! Someone ran someone else over I vaguely remember from the end of Season 2…I need to rewatch the last episode of season 2 to get up to speed again! Can’t wait!
What Happened, Miss Simone? (Documentary) 26th June
This looks an interesting documentary about Nina Simone, an American singer and pianist born in 1933. The documentary follows her rise to fame, civil rights activism and mental health struggle with previously unreleased archival footage and interviews with Simone’s daughter and friends.
Advanced Style (Documentary) Streaming now
Ok this looks really fun! It follows seven very fashionable New Yorkers….elderly New Yorkers! I l just love listening to older wiser people so will I will be interested to hear their thoughts on growing old…glamorously! 🙂
UGLY (Movie) 22nd June
This is an Indian psychological thriller that has also got some amazing reviews. A terrible tale of corruption, indifference, and systemic violence starts when 10 year old daughter of an aspiring actor disappears.
Half Nelson (Film) Streaming now
Stars Ryan Gosling…..nuff said really! 😉 This has been around since 2006, so I’m surprised I haven’t seen or heard of it…baby brain perhaps. It’s received tons of awards too!

Dreamworks Dragons : Race To The Edge (Season 1) 26th June
This is a Netflix Original series based on the blockbuster ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ films.

Bindis Boot Camp 15th June
This is a wildlife themed game show for kids hosted by Bindi Irwin….yes daughter of legendary crocodile hunter Steve Irwin. I might have a watch if this myself!

Some Assembly Required (Tv Series) 19th June
A 14 year old gets a faulty chemistry set which ends in his whole house being blown up. When the company dont apologise he sues and wins the company. Himself and his friends have to work together to come up with new ideas and make the company a success.
Well I know for a fact OITNB will be first ticked off the list possibly by Monday morning even!
