I’m late with this, had planned a post early August but honestly I’m not sure where the first 3 weeks of this month went? Anyone?? Kid’s back to school next week and all, it really flew in!
Anyway, I haven’t had much of a chance to watch anything on Netflix but I have a lot on my lost to watch. The kids as always have been flicking away though and it’s been a saviour on the rainy days during their summer holidays 🙂
So here are my top picks this month
This is based on our own Cecelia Ahern’s novel ‘Where Rainbows End’..again I haven’t read it lol. It seems a cute rom-com following two childhood friends whose lives end up in opposite directions but will they find each other again and maybe more? I think I know how i will end but seem’s like a good one to watch.
I have never read the book…shocking I know, so I think I will have to watch this 1992 version when it’s released on the 26th of this month. From what I can see it’s about the doomed love of an orphan boy and the daughter of the family who took him it.
12 Angry Men
This is an old movie released in 1957 but seems to have great reviews. Basically it followers 12 jurors deliberations of a murder trial. I live these mystery type drams so deffo on the list to watch with himself. It streams from the 26th of this month
I am a big fan of scary movies so I love when new ones come to Netflix. The Babadook is an Australian-Canadian psychological horror about a boy who finds a creepy book in his room one night and asks his mother to read it. From then strange things start happening! Yes I’m deffo watching this!
The True Cost
I have heard a lot about this documentary lately so this is also on my list of things to watch. It is about the true cost of fashion and just who really suffers so we can get high street fashion at low cost. Yes, it sounds depressing but it’s a serious issue how factory workers in poverty stricken areas are being treated and the more awareness the better.
Netflix For The Kids
It’s great that Netflix are adding more kids stuff all the time as the kids never get bored, though I do wish they had more than one season of Peppa Pig! Anyway here are what the kids have been watching and what’s new
I really like the look of this for tweens. It follows 4 girls who are like secret agents and use their science and math skills. Seems a nice feel good girl-power type series proving, as they say ‘smart is the new cool’
I didn’t realise how big this was till I just googles it now and there are dolls and a snazzy website for kids with game and experiments they can try at home!
I hope you and the kids find something new to watch this month. Let me know what you have been watching in your house 😀 Yaz xo
