La Roche Posay is one of my favourite skincare brands, especially when it comes to sensitive skin. Their new CC Créme is part of their Rosaliac range which is specially formulated for redness prone skin.
Now me and CC & BB creams don’t get on in all honesty! Of the few I’ve tried I just don’t feel they are for me. I like a more full coverage.
I was excited to try this CC créme though as I do have uneven skin tone and redness on my cheeks and bridge of my nose from sun damage (broken capillaries) but one of the things I have found with CC and BB crémes is they didn’t do a great job of covering the redness like I’d be used to from a foundation.
As well as containing thermal spring water the star ingredient in this product is Ambophenol which has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. It also contains SPF 15 and locks in hydration for up to 12 hours.
The créme come in one universal shade that blends naturally to suit light to medium skin. As mine is tanned I did find this a little on the fair side for me. It glides on though and doesn’t feel cakey or look streaky at all. Although it didn’t cover my redness completely it does a pretty good job and I happily use it in place of foundation when running out the door with a bit of bronzer or highlighter as I’ve done in the picture above to give a little glow. I think it would do an even better job covering redness maybe on people with fairer skin than mine?
I find the Rosaliac CC Créme a very good moisturiser too for during the day too with the added bonus of an SPF and my skin looked and felt more hydrated after a couple of days of using this. It doesn’t feel at all oily on my already oily skin so it didn’t feel like it was sliding off….again another problem with other similar creams I had tried.
The only thing I don’t like about this product is the smell. Although in a survey of 104 women, 89% loved the fragrance s. To me it’s quite a perfumy old lady scent off it, not a bad thing just not for my nose so I think it’s just personal preference. The gorgeous Emma from Fluff & Fripperies did a review here and said the same thing about the smell (see her before and after pics too!)
Still, it wouldn’t put me off the product since it does a good job on all other fronts in terms of coverage, protection and moisturising so I would consider buying it again at €22.50 though I would love to see more shades available!
Do you use a lot of CC or BB crémes….more so than foundation? Any ones you would recommend to me? Yaz x
