I’m sure you’ve all heard and probably tried rescue remedy spray at some stage in your life. Most people have probably used it during exams or rare occasions to try keep calm their nerves a bit.
I don’t think I’ve used it since but recently I was sent some to try from Wholefoods.ie and the press release explained it can be used everyday to deal with all the everyday life stresses. It never occurred to me that it could be used everyday and not just for emergency situations.
The spray is the one I’ve used most often I keep it in the kitchen now to have a spray when I feel a little overwhelmed. As some of you know I get panic attacks and suffer from depression. I have only very recently come off my medication so it’s been a tough few weeks and sometimes I feel overwhelmed with a feeling of anxiousness/fear.
I tend to take the spray a few times during the day now to take the edge off if I feel I’m about to have a panic attack. I really have no idea if it works or not, it could be a psychological placebo effect you know? But I do believe in natural remedies so I’m thinking maybe it is working 🙂
Their site says this about how it works
”They gently restore the balance between mind and body by casting out negative emotions such as fear, worry, hatred and indecision which interfere with the equilibrium of the being as a whole. The Bach Flower Remedies allow peace and happiness to return to the sufferer so that the body is free to heal itself’
Their new campaign is to set out to give people an ‘I can do this’ attitude and turn everyday hurdles into positive situations!
Some of their tips are:
Share the problem – most problems or everyday hurdles can at times seem overwhelming, but sharing them with a friend will help to put them into perspective. A problem share really is a problem halved!
Have a cup of tea – More than four out of ten people claim that a cup of tea always makes them feel better.
Take a short break – this will give you time to clear your head and plan what you need to do next to achieve the most out of your day.
Scale down expectations – recognise your limitations and only take on what you can accomplish within the given time period.
Disconnect – keeping your worries at bay and remaining calm gives your body less time in the ‘fight or flight’ mode and more time accomplishing what you need to get done.‘
