I never tried reusable nappies on any of my children until Bambino Mio contacted me a couple of month ago asking would I like to try.I was a bit apprehensive about them but I said I’d give them ago to at least say I had tried. To be honest they sat unopened for a while as I really thought they would leak meaning a ton of washing for me and I was afraid of the messy poop ones.
The ‘Miosolo‘ range is the nappies I was sent to are an all in one nappy designed to fit from newborn to potty training age, so about 3 years of age. This is great as I always thought you had to buy different sizes as they got bigger just like disposable nappies.
Features of the Bambino Miosolo nappies
-Snap buttons to adjust the nappy to 3 sizes
-Elastic sides to allow a comfortable but snug fit to avoid leaks
-Strong velcro tabs to adjust waist size
-Concealed absorbent pad lessening moisture on baby’s skin
-Pull out tab system that makes removing and inserting the absorbent pad easy
-Quick drying
-Booster pads available to increase absorbency
-Liners available to make messes easier to clean up
-Water resistant outer fabric
-Range of gorgeous funky designs
We ran out of pull ups for my 4-year-old one night (he’s a heavy sleeper you see) and I remembered I had the reusable nappies. Now you are supposed to wash them before hand to increase absorbency but to save a trip to Lidl I put the faith of the bed sheets to the reusable nappy! No better test than a four-year olds bladder through the night hey?!
It was a little bit tight on him of course but it fit and he was comfortable so off to sleep he went. The next morning I was expecting a soaking wet bed but I was really surprised that although the nappy was super heavy with pee it did not leak in the slightest.
So that day…after Glitterbaba had done her morning poop though haha, I put a reusable nappy on her with great confidence. No surprises then that it did its job and no leaks at all. It was also extremely cute on her little bum hehe! I love the prints!
The absorbent liner is attached inside but you have handy tabs to thread the liner out to wash it and a pocket when it’s cleaned to easily insert back in as you can see in the pictures below.
I got throw away liners that are like a light cottony paper texture, they are to make poo’s that bit easier to clean and saves the nappy from a big ugly mess that would be hard to get stains off. I haven’t used these yet for the poo’s yet or rather I’ve avoided them since I’m not using the reusable nappies full-time but I have no doubt they work well.
Now the washing, everyone’s fear with reusable nappies I think?!
At the moment I wash the two I have with other clothes in non bio powder which is recommended and fabric softer, though this is not recommended as it can affect the absorbency but so far they seem ok. See,, I think if you were using reusable nappies full-time it wouldn’t be that much extra hassle as you would have a quite few to wash every day or two and so you can just bang them all in one wash without the fabric softener
Bambino do their own reasonably price antibacterial detergent that you can add to your normal washing powder to clean, freshen and deodorize your reusable nappies
Overall I can say without a doubt the Bambino Miosolo reusable nappies are brilliant and just as absorbent if not more than a normal nappy It’s a great investment really since these nappies will do from newborn up to potty training. For the sake of an extra wash every two days they would be well worth using full-time, better for the environment and your pocket. I’m gutted I didn’t try these with mine when they were younger as I can only imagine the amount of money I’d have saved! So for anyone with a young baby or expecting buy one and test it out, they are so much easier than I thought!
Bambino Mio reusable nappies are available from Aldi, I only seen some in my local 2 weeks ago. You can also buy from the Bambino Mio website HERE and see their whole range and the value sets they sell too.
Oh and they do swim nappies! They sound so much more economical and cheaper than buying a whole pack of disposable ones. They have lots of advice and guides to follow on their site too if you are stuck.
If you are feeling lucky however I have 1 of 3 Bambino Miosolo Nappies to giveaway! Yay! Enter below via the rafflecopter form! Good luck!

with baby due next month, i would love to try these before deciding which type of nappies to go with
I’m waiting for good reusable ones for adults who need pads, like my daughter: it would save space and reduce my massive bin charges too!
Looking for Blue Sky recently posted…Next year
I’m surprised nowhere has done them yet? Hopefully somewhere will soon! x
All of my friends use these on their babies! And I’d love to try them 🙂 xxx
Would really like the daughter-in-law to see them first hand so I can convince her through demonstration. not remonstration, that these are the best way forward for a new baby.
I am now on my 3rd child and have never used reusable nappies I would absolutely love to try them especially saving money x
My sister is soon to be a first time new mum and i’d love to give her one of these as a gift – they sound great!
Dying to try out cloth nappies! Had been planning all through my pregnancy to use them but alas now baby is here its gone down to the bottom of the list-no pun intended!
I have to say, your review makes them a whole lot less scary and the designs are really nice….If I was back again I might have been convinced to try them. Especially as using the regular ones makes me feel like an environmental terrorist……the guilt! 🙂
I wish I’d read reviews myself, as I was under the impression they were really complicated!
Ah try not too feel too bad, most people use disposables x
I’d love to win one of these!
The wastage with disposable nappies is immense. I’d love to give these a go
id like these for my little nephew
Always fancied trying reusable nappies but thought they might be way too much work!
Have only used disposables. These look great so would love to try them.
Please throw my name in the hat Yaz; I’m hoping to use cloth exclusively for number two when safe arrives and these would be perfect nappies to get my stash started x
I have a stash of reusable nappies ready for baby number 2 due any day now, including some miosolos. However, I don’t have any of these designs so they would be a welcome addition to our collection 🙂
I’ve never tried reuseable and would like to switch to them, I’ve just never been brave enough!
Have heard good things about these from a couple of friends so wuld love to try; I tried another brand of cloth nappies but they weren’t very absorbant.
We are planning on using reuseables on our next child and I am trying to build a stock up
