irish beauty box powderpocket box june review

Inside was

  • Pixy Natural Skincare – 1 Lime Body Scrub €1
  • Shiseido – Advanced Body Creator Super Slimming Reducer 30ml €9.30
  • Dr. Hauschka – Almond Soohing Bath Essence 10ml €2.25
  • The Body Shop – Super Volume Mascara €3.98
  • Nía – Intensive Restoring Moisturiser 4ml  €2
  • BONUS – Eyebrow Threading Voucher for The Body Shop €12

We have two Irish brands in this box, Pixy Natural & Nía.

I’ve used products from Pixy before but not these body scrubs. I was very excited to use the cube last night but was so disappointed with them 🙁 It was really oily and left a horrible greasy layer all over my skin. I had to spend most of my shower trying to wash it all off so I could shave my legs! It also left the bath tub really slippy and greasy too so had to spend more time scrubbing that. Not a very enjoyable shower and I’ve had much better scrubs.

Nía is a brand I’ve heard a bit about but never tried. It’s an all natural brand too. This Intensive Restoring Moisturiser is very similar to Pixy’s Soothing Body Balm (which I reviewed here) but this is for your face. It’s light and fluffy in the pot and then melts into your skin like an oil. It has no mineral oils, parabens, silcones etc just 100% natural butters, herbs and essential oils. It smells herby (is that a word haha) but in a nice uplifting sort of way/smell.

I love bath oils so I will look forward to using the Dr.Hauschka Almond bath oil. It smells very strong/sweet but once in the bath it will be less so and almond oil is so moisturing. Can’t wait to have a bath in it! I’d say I’ll get two baths out of the vile.

The Shiseido Advanced Body Creator – Super Slimming Reducer sounds a bit gimmicky to me?  It’s a ‘slimming fragrance’ gel….yeh I don’t know either….you use it on ‘areas of concern’  at least once a day and it’s supposed to burn and prevent fat build up!!! Okaaaay! :/It is scientifically tested and proven to work though! So I happily tried it last night, it has a lovely fragrance I have to say, menthol and fresh. When applied to skin it feels really tingly….very funny sensation but nice.  Maybe after long term use I’d have the body of  my dreams but at €63 for 200ml I will never know haha!

the body shop super volume mascara review

Finally we have a the Super Volume Mascara by The Body Shop which I have been using the past couple of days and I think its really good. It effortlessly gives a good amount of volume and length and doesn’t sting which is a problem for me with some eye products. I would deffo consider buying this….and I’m so fussy with mascaras. This mascara has the added benefit fair trade marula oil to help keep lashes nourishes.

I’m happy with the brands in this months PowderPocket box even though I may not like them all but honestly I wish their was at least one full sized product in the box. I am absolutely delighted with the threading voucher though as I anyone who knows me knows I love getting my eyebrows threaded at The Body Shop so that’s  €12 saved for me 🙂

So what’s your verdict girls?  Yaz x
