Netflix #Streamteam What we’ve been watching & what’s new!

Yaz April 1, 2015     3 Comments     Family, Home, Kids, Lifestyle

Happy 1st of April everyone!! Hoping the weather stops playing tricks on us now! I need the warmth of the sun, no more rain please 🙂

So anyway, as part of the Netflix #StreamTeam my job is to tell you what we’ve been enjoying and also tell you what’s new/upcoming!

Since I’ve been on my health kick I’ve been squeezing in some food documentaries which have been both eye-opening and motivating for me to take care of what I’m putting in my body! Here’s what I watched

netflix food documentariesHungry for change
This was my favourite documentary I watched and for anyone going on a diet watch this first! It’s presented in a relaxed feel by a few health conscious experts telling you how the food industry deceive us e.g claiming something is healthy/low-fat when really they have it added with tons of bad sweeteners etc. Very eye-opening and shows you natural really is best because all these additives etc in food nowadays are coming at a high price to our health all to get you addicted and wanting more!

Food Inc.
This was a pretty shocking documentary all about the food industry. It was equally horrific and gross. It goes into how food especially meat is being made to grow at a quicker rate….but at a cost to the animals welfare and our health! I’m making more vegetarian dishes now and a more interested to know where my meat has come from. I do hope as it was an American documentary that things aren’t as bad/deceiving here in Ireland

Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead 1 & 2 (new)
This one was all about juicing and the benefits of it! It’s presented by Joe Cross who started out as over weight, sick and well nearly dead like the title says He decides the only way to detox his body is to go on a juice fast for 60 days! Excessive yes but it shows the difference in his health. It showed other people who did shorter detoxes with amazing results and health benefits. I now want a juicer now to try his ‘Reboot with Joe’ programme!

So that’s what I’ve been watching if you can recommend any other ones please let me know!

Meanwhile the kids have been watching the usual cartoons and some new finds too
kids netflix
The Magic School Bus
I totally used to watch this as a kid haha! It was so fun and educational so love that my kids are into it now!

Hansel & Gretel
This is an old version of the classic fairytale Hansel & Gretel. I watched it the other day with the kids and it was very good. Quite scary in parts too!

Julius Junior (new)
This is an educational fun tv series for kids. If you recognise the characters that’s because they are from designer Paul Frank fashion lines. Very bright and colourful so the younger babies love it too.

New/Upcoming Series!grace & frankie netflix bloodline newBloodline (Season 1)
Haven’t started to watch this yet but I plan too! Sounds mysterious!
”The Rayburns are a contemporary American family who are hard-working pillars of their Florida community. But when the black sheep and eldest son, Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) comes home for the 45th anniversary of his parents’ hotel, he threatens to expose the Rayburns dark secrets and shameful past, pushing his siblings to the limits of family loyalty.”

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Season 1)
I finished the whole first season and am dying for the next. Great laughs. You can see all about my trip to London to see this especially here

Grace & Frankie (streaming 8th May!) Netflix Original Series!
Not out yet but thought I’d give you the heads up.
”Jane Fonda (“Grace”) and Lily Tomlin (“Frankie”) star in this comedy as a pair of frenemies whose lives are turned upside down – and permanently intertwined – when their husbands leave them for each other.”

Happy streaming!
Yaz xo
