Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation Review

So a couple of months ago picked up the Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation as I’d already tried the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream (review here) and quite liked that so felt it only appropriate that I try the foundation too πŸ™‚

Apparently, Bourjois foundations are more yellow toned than a lot of other drug store foundations. Pink tones just don’t look great on me at all, they make me look too warm and enhance the redness I have too. I’ve tanned/sallow skin so have very very obvious yellow tones. Some days I actually think I look like a Simpsons character lol!

I picked up shade no.54 first but it was too dark. I think in the summer when I’ve a tan it will look much better. So I went and got shade no.53 then and that’s much better!bourjous shade 53 and 54

What I like about the 123 range is that they have a few different pigments in them:
1. Yellow pigments – conceals dark circles for a rested look
2. Mauve pigments – corrects dullness for radiance
3. Green pigments – neutralises redness for an even out the complexion

Other benefits they state:
lasts for 16 hours
gives 24hr hydration
cotton flower ingredients hydration & anti shine
non comodogenic, lets skin breathe

As you can see below it evens out my skin tones and covers redness. I have some blush on in the pic below though, I forgot to take a pic straight after applying πŸ˜‰

I find the consistency is light and creamy-not too watery or too thick. It makes it very easy to apply and I’m left with a semi-matte finish.
I use my F20 Flat Buffer Brush from Black Canvas Cosmetics (review here) to apply it by the way.

I would have oily skin around my nose but there is no shine or excess oiliness after a long day.
I find no drynessΒ around my cheek area which is a common problem for most people with foundations.

I don’t feel it does a great job with my under eye circles, though I do find the darkness under my eyes very hard to cover anyway! I took this picture after a long day(lasts well anyway!) so the darkness could be smudged eye-liner/mascara and different lighting.

Overall

I’m very happy with this and it’s my go to foundation at the moment. It covers just enough without looking heavy and lasts all day without any shine.

I’m hoping the shade 54 looks OK in the summer when I’m more tanned or else the search will begin again…..but we all know as a beauty addict I’m gonna want to try new foundations regardless! πŸ˜›

Tell me what your fave foundation is at the moment and any you’d recommend for yellow tones? I’ve heard Stila and Bobbi Brown are good for yellow tines skin?!
